Smart Eating

Grounded in a set of climate-friendly principles, GoalBlue empowers the public to engage in a proactive yet positive way with the topic of sustainable food consumption as a choice of food that is beneficial and life enhancing for individuals, society and the planet. Smart Eating, Saving the Planet!

By addressing climate problems with eating choices, GoalBlue aims to build a new constituency for climate action in China with Smart Eating program. Smart Eating is offering food knowledge to consumers, and emphasizing plant-based food’s benefits to our health and environment. By doing these, we intent to lead consumers to make their smarter, healthier and more environmental friendly choices.

Our goal is to inform and motivate consumers to consider the climate impacts of their everyday eating habits, by encouraging them to shift to low-carbon diet by consuming less red meat, more vegetables and plant based protein, as well as more fish from sustainable resources.

We also aim to identify better practices, showcase businesses and collaborate with educational institutions and organizations that practice or promote sustainable agriculture.

Clean Commuting

Burning fossil fuel in transportation sector is one of major resources of manmade carbon dioxide emissions. It is accelerating global climate change. Transportation sector consumes over half of the oil in China.

Meanwhile, emission from transportation also affect the urban air quality. In some Chinese cities, such as Beijing, emissions from vehicles are the biggest source of air pollution.

Commute Program advocates using low carbon transportations, such as bikes and electrical vehicles, to reduce fossil fuel consumption, lower the greenhouse gas emissions. We hope this will lead to mitigate climate change and also improve air quality in cities across China. To make our sky blue again.

Ocean is an important part of the global climate system, which plays a decisive role in regulating and stabilizing the climate through the interaction with the energy of the atmosphere and the role of water circulation, known as the "regulator" of the Earth's climate. Ocean absorbs 40% of the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and carbon dioxide is considered one of the greenhouse gases that lead to climate change. On the other hand, climate change has had a huge impact on the oceans. The rise in temperature leads to an increase in sea level and seawater temperature, while the excessive absorption of carbon dioxide by the sea raises seawater acidification, which is destructive to marine and coastal ecosystems, is considered coral bleaching, coral reefs, small islands and a series of problems. Large-scale industrial development and human over-consumption across the world have also brought fatal crises to marine life chains.

GoalBlue believes a little effort from each and every one of us can generate an enormous impact to save and protect our oceans in this moment of crisis. To be a responsible and thoughtful consumer can change the ocean status. Blue Ocean aims to raise public awareness and foster social change to promote new and more responsible consumer behavior and lifestyle.

Blue Ocean is the most important initiatives for its crucial and life changing impact on all inhabitants of this planet with a focus on three key aspects: maintain the balance of the marine ecosystem, support sustainable fishing practices and reduce current and future plastic waste in our oceans.
